Since 1976, Heliodyne has offered the highest quality, closed-loop solar hot water systems and employs a food-grade glycol/water mix to prevent freezing in all climates. The PV powered, grid-independent system operates directly from the sun, and the brighter it shines, the faster the circulation pump runs. The PV system's heat exchangers work with any off-the-shelf electric water heater tank of appropriate size (use 1.5 gals. of storage per sq. ft. of Gobi collector), or with our self-cleaning Energy Smart heater tanks.

Gobi collectors feature a black chrome surface and all-copper absorbers that bond to the risers with a non-delaminating bond creating amazing heat transfer and high output in winter and summer.Dyn-O-Seal unions with no-solder connections make for quick and easy installation. Glazing is double-strength tempered glass with an anti-glare finish held in place with a weather-tight, compression-fitted seal. Frames are exceptionally sturdy bronze-anodized aluminum, and the collectors are only 4" in profile.

Both systems include Gobi collectors; flush mount kit; Dyn-O-Seal unions; tempering valve and air vent (for scald prevention and ease of system filling/bleeding); Dyn-O-Flo: inhibited, propylene glycol (operating range is -50°F to 325°F); and either an HP Helix PV pump station (20W PV w/ DC pump and stainless steel, thermosiphon heat exchanger assembly) or a pre-plumbed and wired HP 16 AC heat transfer appliance (double-wall heat exchanger assembly with differential control and sensors). Also included are an expansion tank, pump(s), pressure relief valve and gauge, check valve, thermometers and installation instructions.

Optional 50- and 80-gal. Energy Smart heaters feature a pair of 4.5kW elements, 3” of insulation and a sophisticated controller that heats to usage patterns. The 120-gal. Solar Storage tank has a single 4.5kW element and 2” insulated walls. All systems include everything needed except 3/4” copper supply and return piping and pipe insulation.

Systems are SRCC OG300 Certified to qualify for Federal and State tax credits.
